Sh. Praveen Kumar

Born on 21st June, 1965. Did graduation from University of Delhi in B.Sc (Hons). Completed LL.B and LL.M. from University of Delhi in the year 1989 and 1992 respectively. Also completed certificate in Computing Course from IGNOU. Practiced law, both on civil and criminal side, till 1992 and, thereafter, joined Delhi Judicial Service on 20.10.1992. As a member of DJS, served as Metropolitan Magistrate and Civil Judge in Tis Hazari Court, Patiala House Courts.

Promoted to Delhi Higher Judicial Service on 06.08.2003 and served as Additional District Judge, Additional Sessions Judge in various Delhi District Courts. Thereafter, remained posted as Special Judge (CBI) in Rohini Court, Delhi. Also served as Registrar in Apex Court and performed duties under the then Hon’ble Chief Justice of India. Also worked as Special Judge (NDPS), Special Judge (FTC) (rape cases), Principal Judge (South), Family Court, Saket and Principal Judge (North), Family Court, Rohini, Delhi.

Joined as Principal Judge (Hqs); Family Court, Dwarka New Delhi on 26.07.2022. Promoted as Principal District and Sessions Judge (North-East), Karkardooma Courts, Delhi on 14.12.2022.

Presently Posted as Principal District & Sessions Judge, South-West District, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi since 2nd May 2023.
